Rehoboth vital records show a Daniel of Thomas buried May 8, 1689. It is believed that this Daniel died very young, and the next child was named Daniel and becomes the one of record.

Quoting from Taunton, Mass vital records: Thomas Armsbee and Mary Fitch married May 11, 1667.

The Fitch Family by R.C. Fitch, says; John Fitch (died Rehoboth Jan. 21, 1697/8) married Mary Sutton (died Rehoboth Nov. 4, 1703/4). They had a daughter, Mary, who married. May 11, 1677, Thomas Ormsbee (Armsbee). John Fitch made his will June 30, 1693. Recorded Bristol Co., Mass.

It is believed that the proper date of the marriage is that quoted from Taunton, Mass. vital records, as the dates of the births of the children fit this date rather than 1677. Another option is that Thomas may have had a wife previous to Mary Fitch. This could explain the first five children having been born in Taunton and the remaining six in Rehoboth.

History of Rehoboth, Mass. By Tilton (1918). In a list of inhabitants and proprietors who shared in lands given to the Town of Rehoboth, by Quit Claim Deed Feb. 7, 1689, by William Bradford and recorded Apr. 21, 1735, among others were; Ormsby, John, Thomas, and Mary, Jacob Ormsby's daughter. (Jacob had died 1677). He was an appraiser who inventoried the estate of Robert Sears of Rehoboth.

From Ormsby - Ormsbee Families, Descendants of Richard Ormsbey by A. E. Pierce.
Dr. Joseph Ormsby who married Martha Soule was the son of Jospeh Ormsby and Christian (?). Joseph Ormsby was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Peck Ormsbee Joseph was born in Woodstock Ct 24 July 1740. Thomas was the son of Thomas Ormsby Jr. and Rebecca Whittaker of Rehoboth. Thomas was the son of Thomas Ormsby and Mary Fitch (my husband's line- AMSBURY) then of course Ricard Ormsby and Sarah Wanton (she may have been a widow). He has most of the places and dates and follows this family with adequate citations, than could be be easily traced to their proper source.

I find in my stuff from Fuller in England that Thomas (1645-1716) and wife Mary had a son Daniel (1690-1766) that married Ruth. Then I show that one of his brothers Ezra (1636-1763) and wife Mary had a son Daniel (1732-?) that married Martha. So there is a Daniel and his nephew Daniel.....

Thomas Ormsby was on a list of those eligible for a lot in the North Purchase, as were his two brothers, John and Jacob. In 1689 his name was one of those listed on a quit claim deed, which was given to the citizens of Rehoboth by William Bradford. His will was dated March 23, 1715 and probated in Bristol County on December 10, 1716.
