In speaking of his grandfather, he says, "Oliver Ormsbee, whom I remember distinctly, was a tall massive framed man standing six feet six inches tall, an impressive Lincolnesque figure" - - -
"The marriage of Mary Ann Carpenter and Oliver Ormsbee typifies the fusion in the melting pot of the time of two irreconsilable forces and the happy results have rewarded the world with the American Democracy."

My great grandfather was Oliver Ormsbee and he Married Mary Ann
Carpenter. My grandmother was Esther Ormsbee. She married my grandfather
Henry Bowers in Plattsburgh on August 30th in 1864. My Uncle's
bible says Oliver was born in Ticonderoga and Mary Ann was born
in Vergennes Vt. That is all the information I have on the family.
Oliver was an iron worker and they moved to Saranac Lake to work
in the iron works there and they are buried in Saranac Lake.
