Silon A. served in the Civil Was in "Co. B 128th Regt. N.Y. Vols." As marked on his grave stone. Note: this is the same outfit that his brother Emmett L. was in.

His obituary from Brant Lake (paper not identified)
"Silon A. Ormsby, an old and respected citizen of this place, died last Thursday evening at 11 o'clock. The deceased was about 58 years old, and a veteran of the Civil War. The funeral was held from the house at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. Rev. C.E. Fox officiating. Interment in the Elbow Cemetery."

"Mrs. Chloe Ormsby, who has been ill for the past 2 months, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home near this Village. The funeral was held Thursday from the house and the remains laid in the Elbow Cemetery. She is survived by 1 son, Clayton, of Horican."
