The Land Records at the Town of Clarendon Clerk's office disclose many transactions with the Ormsbee family. The first record is in;
Deed book 7 p. 9 dated Nov. 10, 1786 from Orange Train, of Tinmouth, Rutland Co., Vt. to Samuel and Joseph Ormsbee of Clarendon, Rutland Co., Vt. --- etc---- 175 acres.
The 1800 census of Rutland Co. Town of Clarendon lists Samuel and Joseph Ormsbee there both with young children.
Deed book 8 p. 105 dated Mar. 21, 1812 Lewis Walker of Clarendon, Vt. deeds to Hannah Ormsbee, wife of Samuel Ormsbee, of Clarendon, Vt. etc.
From these two deeds, it looks to me that Samuel Ormsbee's wife Hannah must have had some connection with the Walker family.
Deed book 12 p. 80 dated mar. 18, 1833, Peter Ormsbee of Clarendon, Vt. deeds land to William Harrington, of Clarendon, Vt.
Note: this is about the time Peter moved to Louisville, St.
Lawrence Co., N.Y.
Deed book 14 was the one which disclosed the family of Samuel
and Hannah Ormsbee.
