Phebe must have died between the 1860 census and Mar. 10, 1861 when Thomas made his will naming, Silas, Chapman, & Elijah Giddings, and Hannah Perry as brothers and sisters of "my beloved wife". No children were mentioned.

Chapman Giddings d. Feb. 19, 1869 aged 71-5-16, Born in Rutland,
Vt. died in Fairfax (Town of Cambridge), Vt. Father Daniel, mother
Sarah. Buried "On the Fairfax road in what was known as the
Gidding's Yard".
Betsey Reynolds, wife of Chapman Giddings, (1801 - 1863) buried
in the same place.
Hannah Giddings married May 4, 1828 to Nathaniel G. Perry. Residence
of bride Rutland, Vt.
The only records of this Thomas are a deed and his will, both at Essex County Court House at Elizabethtown, N.Y.

The petition of Chapman Giddings was made to the Surrogate of Essex County, N.Y. Feb. 5, 1863. In it he names brothers and one sister of Thomas Ormsbee, as:

3. Samuel, deceased, of Clarendon, Vt.
4. Mehitable Carpenter, deceased.
The petition also names the known children of the above brothers and sister as;
