The children listed are from Probate of Thomas Ormsbee estate. The order of birth is unknown
He died July 11, 1853 aged 84 in Town of Moriah, N.Y. Buried in an old cemetery called "Ormsbee Cemetery" near Moriah, N.Y. (Now lost) Record copied long ago by Miss. Hall of Port Henry, N.Y
She died between the 1850 census (age 77) and the 1860 census of the Town of Moriah, Essex Co., N.Y. Buried in the "Stevenson Cemetery" along Hwy. 9N between Port Henry and Westport, N.Y. The gravestone has been reset in cement and the dates covered; it reads, "Charlotte, the wife of Joseph Ormsbee". Next to it is the base for a grave stone, no doubt intended for Joseph. Next to the lot where Charlotte is buried is a large monument of the Howard family.
This Joseph and his son Horace B. must have been the ones involved in the iron mining business, or have owned the land on which the iron was discovered, because all the Ormsbee deeds recorded at Elizabethtown, County seat of Essex County, N.Y. concerning iron mines are in their names, bearing dates from 1845 to 1849.
The 1850 Census of the Town of Moriah, Essex Co., N.Y.
Ormsby, Joseph age 80 b in R.I.
, Charlotte 77 b. in Mass.
