In the DAR card file of Vital Records in the Providence Historical Soc. Lib. her grave record reads; "In memory of, Mrs. Roby Ormsbee, wife of Mr. John Ormsbee, d. Dec. 28, 1776 aged 17 yrs."

John Ormsbee was a soldier of the Revolution. He and both his
wives are buried in North Burial Ground, Providence, R.I. R.I.
Soc. of the Sons of the American Rev. has recorded his grave;
"Ormsbee, John d. Jan. 19, 1787 age 34 years.
Service; In 1777 his name appears on the Muster Roll of the 1st
Regt. of the Continental Line.
Buried; North Burial Ground, Providence, R.I."
The will of John Ormsbee received from Mrs. Winifred Farnham, Gen. of Providence, R.I.
"In the name of God Amen. I, John Ormsbee of Providence,
in the County of Providence in the State of Rhode Island, House
Carpenter, being at present in sound and perfect mind and memory
though weak and low in health calling to mind the mortality of
my body and knowning that it is appointed to all men once to die
-- Do make and ordain this my last will and testament - That is
to say Principally and First of all I give and recommend my soul
into the Hands of God that gave it and my body to the earth to
be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the direction of
my Executor hereafter to be named - And as to such worldly goods
and estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this
life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and
form.
Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my three children, John Holden
Ormsbee, Robe Arnold Ormsbee, and Seneca Ormsbee to them their
heirs and assigns forever my house where I now live. All the land
belonging to me - - Also a legacy given me and my late wife by
Elder Charles Holden of Warwick and all my household furniture
and working tools to be equally divided between them after my
funeral charges are paid and a pair of grave stones for me and
my last wife are got and set and all my just debts paid - -
And lastly I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my beloved
brother, Caleb Ormsbee my executor to execute this my last will
and testament - -
In witness wherefore I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
second day of January Anno Domini 1787 and in the Eleventh Year
of American Independence.
