John Ormsbee was one of the pioneer settlers of Shoreham, Addison
Co., Vermont coming there in 1789. He was many years member of
the School Board, and Justice of the Peace.
Town of Shoreham, Vt. Land Record Book 9 dated Jan. 25, 1839, John Ormsbee deeds his farm to his son John M. and one of the conditions is; "if John M. builds another dwelling house, rooms shall be provided for John and his wife Joanna, and he is to take care of and support them. Give John a decent Christian burial and provide for Joanna if John dies first" Showing "Joanna" as being 2d. wife.

died in Shoreham, Vt.
