Ruth Day Ormsbee, from an old diary of RMO says she was buried in Ormsbee Cemetery, but there is now no stone to mark her grave. The 1850 census of Greenfield, N.Y. shows her age as 33 yrs. and marked "Insane

Amanda Emeline Ormsbee, died Sept. 24, 1878 aged 45 yrs. Unmarried. Buried in Scott Cemetery, near Greenfield Center, N.Y.

In a letter written by Russell M. Ormsbee, brother of Ira, to their sister, Zerviah St. John, dated Oct. 16, 1851, he says, "Ira and his wife both died of the same disease, disentary."
Ira must have served in the War of 1812 because at his grave is a bronze "War of 1812" marker. Also in "N.Y. Council of Appointment (1784-1821)" Vol. 2, "Lt. Ira Ormsbee" is listed in Saratoga Co., N.Y.

A letter from Miss. Marie Field of Pasadena, Calif. dated June 2, 1961, "Anna Merrilla Gleason was the widow of Uriah Gleason (1797-1837), son of Peter Gleason, born 1754 in Mass. Her maiden name was Burton."

Abstract of the will of Ira Ormsbee of Greenfield, N.Y. who died Oct. 13, 1851. From the County Surrogate's office at Saratoga Springs Town Hall, June 4, 1951.

At the time of his death, he left no widow, his only heirs and next of kin, to wit; Isaac C. Ormsbee, Ruth D. Ormsbee, Amanda E. Ormsbee, all of full and lawful age, and Isaac C. Gates and Chauncey Gates, being minors and having no general guardian, John A. Putnam, consenting, was appointed special guardian of said minors.

1stly. All property real and personal to be sold by Executors.
2dly. All property to be priced. (Inventory showed a value of $929.00 not including land)
3dly. To daughter, Amanda Emeline $300.00 to be paid in installments.
"I consider this to equal in value to a certain lot of land which I have heretofore given to my son Isaac Chauncey and situated in the State of Michigan"
4thly. To Grandson, Isaac I. Gates $25.00
5thly. To grandson, Chauncey Gates $25.00. (These are sons of Sally J.)
6thly. The remainder of my estate to be held in trust by my son, Isaac C. Ormsbee for the comfortable support and maintenance of my daughter Ruth D. Ormsbee. (Note: she was an incompetent)
7thly. Any property left at the death of Ruth D. Ormsbee, Isaac C. should have 2/3 and daughter Amanda Emeline 1/3.
