From: "History of Rehoboth, Mass." by Tilton (1918) p. 133, there is the autograph of "Abraham Ormsbee" dated 1775. He is called Colonel in the militia. In Chapter 4 p. 147, Militia of Bristol County, Mass. (1685-1840) 1st Regt., 2d Brigade, 5th Div., under officers, "Colonels" is listed "Lieut.-Col. Abraham Ormsbee of Rehoboth, commissioned May 27, 1811."
