Robert leaving his property to a brother, Richard, in England. Abraham's property went to the children of Richard and John Ormsby, who were relatives. Elizabeth Martin, sister of Robert, Abraham and Isaac was the wife of Deacon John Upham. Richard's will dated 6/2/1686 and probated 5/7/1695 names no wife.

What I have is that Richard Ormsby (Armsbey) was the son of Thomas
Ormsbee, b. abt 1580 in Alford, Lincolnshire, England, and Maria
Underwood, b. abt 1584, same place, m. July 1, 1602. Richard married
someone unknown first in England and had Joane Ormsby (armsbey)
in 1622. He then married Sarah Upham Wanton in 1640 either in
Saco, York Co, MAine, or in Eng, before they came, and they had
John, Thomas, Jacob and Mary. Mary married Nicholas Iyde Juni
on Dec 27 1677 in Rehoboth Mass. Sarah Upham Wanton was the daughter
of Richard Upham, b. 1584, England, d. 1635 in Bicton, Devonshire,
Eng, and Maria. Richard Upham was the son of John Upham who died
in 1584 in Bicton. That was same year his son was born. My information
is from the Bullock family tree. Hope it helps. I am also looking
for information on this line, all of it, but especially I am looking
for information about Jacob Ormsby, b. 1710 son of Jonathan, son
of John, son of Richard. If you have anything, I would greatly
appreciate seeing it! Also I have more siblings in the Upham family,

My line is from John, brother of Jonathan, so I have no information
on Jacob. However, I have learned the following about the Upham's:
John Upham was born 1525 and married wife Joane abt. 1555. John's
father was Richard Upham (abt. 1500- 1546) and mother was Agnes
(abt. 1503-aft. 1546) Richard's father was Hugo de Upham. All
this was in Bicton, and the information came from various Internet
home pages.

I'm afraid it appears that you've skipped a few generations. The John Upham you mentioned (abt 1500 - 1546) and the information there-after is correct. However, and it appears there is a direct connection, but Hugo de Upham was mentioned in the charter rolls as receiving land in 1208, so he was not John's father unless his life-span was of biblical proportions. In between there should be at least Oliver de Upham b. 1449 in Bicton, (likely grandson of Hugo) and his son Horace de Upham b. 1475 in Bicton. Horace was the father of Richard Upham who married Agnes in 1523.
As to the confusion some people have regarding Sarah, who accompanied
her brother,(who is know in the states as "Our Common Ancestor"
the confusion is justified. She arrive in the states in 1635,
single, along with her brother and a married sister. It then appears
she had 3 husbands. They were:
Richard Webb
Richard Wanton, b. 1596, m 1633
Richard Ormsby, b 1602 by whom she had at least: John, Thomas
& Jacob, although some reference lead to the possibility of
a 4th child - Mary.

The info I sent regarding the various husbands of Sarah (nee) Upham were sent to me by a genealogist in England. His work only shows Sarah marrying Richard Webb in New England. (Trees often tend to ignore the females once their surnames change.) He also sent a tree from someone he knows. This is where the info I provided came from. He indicated Sarah married 3 times. He said Webb was # 1 and Wanton was #2. There are 2 problems. He indicates she married Wanton in 1633 in Salisburgh, Strathclyde, (which IS in Scotland) but he has 2 ?'s after the statement. When Sarah boarded ship on Mar 20, 1635, she gave her surname as Upham. Secondly, in her father's will dated Dec 12, 1635, (and buried 7 days later), he refers to his daughter as Sarah Uppam (there have been a few variations on the name), "...in New England if she write that shee hath need of it...."

Re:Sarah-The info I have shows she m. Richard Wanton in Scotland & he died about a year later in Scotland. Sarah appar came to the US where she met & m. Richard Ormsby after his first wife died.
