Amos Ormsby & brothers, Ephiraim & Nathaniel, came from England to Colonial America. One settled in New Hampshire, one went to an unknown location; and Nathaniel settled in Norwich, Conn.
Nathaniel Ormsby came from England, and settled in Norwich, Conn. in Colonial times. He married Elizabeth (Pperkins); and in 1776, they movd to Huntington, Hampshire Co., Mass. He served from there in the Revolution, and died in Albany during the War. Known son, Samuel. Elizabeth married again to a Deacon Miller and remained in Mass.

by Capt. John Kirkland; residency, Norwich; engaged for town of
Norwich; joined Capt. Wheeler's co., Col. Nixon's reg.; term,

Continental Army pay accounts for service from May 15, 1777 to
Oct. 25, 1777; also Capt. Adam Wheeler's co., Col. Thomas Nixon's
regt. return of men who were in camp on or before Aug. 15, 1777,
dated Soldier's Fortune, Feb. 15, 1779, and certified at Camp
near Peekskill; enlisted May 15, 1777; reported died Oct. 25,
1777.
Lived in Norwich, CT at the time of the revolution. His service

Nathaniel Ormsby, was born in Norwich, November 7, 1734. He was in the Revolutionary War, was wounded at the Battle of Albany, and died of his wounds October 25, 1777. By his wife Elizabeth Perkins, he had seven children.

The rest divided amongst Samuel Ormsby, Lydia Ormsby, alias Lydia
Williams, wife of Isaac Williams, Anna Ormsby, Sally Ormsby,
Elizabeth Ormsby and Eunice Ormsby, children and heirs of said
deceased in the following manner and proportions viz. To Samuel
Ormsby eldest son of said deceased two sevenths parts or a double
portion being of s. personal estate 16 pounds 7 schillings, 10
pence, and
to Lydia, Ann, Sally, Elizabeth and Eunice one seventh part each
being
8 pounds, 3 schillings, 11 pence each which sum makes to each
their
respective shares in s. personal estate.
