This family moved from Hampton, Conn. to Pawlet, Vt. prior to 1802, for in the records of the Congregational Church at Pawlet, dated June 30, 1802, is the baptism of, Hannah, Lucy, Lemuel, Elijah, Bella, sons and daughters of Jeremiah Ormsbury, and his wife Lucy. Jeremiah and his family moved on over to the Town of Hebron, Washington County, N.Y. in the early 1820s.
From Mr. A.E. Ormsbee: Vermont Register says that Jeremiah was in Washington's Army in the Rev. War, and also in the War of 1812. He was a very patriotic citizen, and was presented a sword for bravery by General George Washington.
Both are buried in Tiplady Cemetery in the Town of Hebron,
