1973 Contennial publication, The Deerfield Album", speaks of Lysander Ormsby who operated a stave mill and general store. Entries in a stave mill journal show Erastus Day, brother of Lysander, was also associated with this operation.

A History of Chesterfield, MA, p. 397 says: "Hezekiah Weeks (William4, John3, William2, George1) was a minor over 14 years of age on 21 Feb 1755, when he chose as guardian, Eliphalet Gay, cordwainer. One of his sureties was Samuel Shuttlesworth, a blacksmith, of Dedham. He ran away from the blacksmith and eventually came to the Westfield Valley and established a claim to 600 acres in Norwich, 1755, where he built a cabin, barns, and blacksmith shop. He m. Ruth Cole of Worthington. Three of their sons have descendants in Chesterfield."

Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution
Vol 16, p. 791, describe "Weeks, Hezekiah, Private, Capt. Daniel Pomroy's detachment from Gen. Danielson's (Hampshire Co.) brigade; entered service July 1, 1778; service to Oct. 31, 1778, under Gen. Stark in Northern department; also, same detachment, pay roll for Oct., 1778, certified at Northampton." Syl's note: is this the same Hezekiah ?

At the time of the 1790 census in Norwich, Hezekiah Weeks headed a household consisting of 3 males age 16 & over, 2 males under 16, and 3 females (all free, white).

Kingston, MA VR to 1850 list marriage for Ruth COKE & Hezekiah Weeks 26 Feb 1763.
The History and Genealogy of Families of Chesterfield, MA, p. 397, says Hezakiah Weeks married Ruth Cole of Worthington. Various family group sheets also describe Ruth Cole, b. abt 1744 of Worthington, MA. However, old Worthington histories indicate the first settlements were established in 1763/1764. Before that it was part of the Hatfield Grant (1736).

The 1790 Federal Census for Worthington lists Noah Cole (1 male age 16 & over, 2 females). Could he be related to Ruth Cole? In 1845, Horace Cole settled in town - general store owner( 1860) & cheese factory (1874).

At the time of the 1850 census for Norwich (Huntington), there is an Ebenezer Weeks, age 68, male, occupation: none, living in the household of Hezekiah & Minerva Weeks.

The History of Chesterfield, MA, p. 398 says she married 30 Aug 1842, Erastus D Ormsby, carpenter, of Chester; removed to Deerfield, Mich.

Don't believe from this line, since I have found no indication of this county.
