Alvin Lysander Ormsby built a 20-foot cruiser which he named "Alomar". I believe the cruiser was completed sometime in 1954. It was launched at Balboa. From A. Scott (son) the cruiser was started in 1953, Dad bought the haul and completed the rest, adding the cabin, decks, power, etc.

From A. Scott Ormsby, son: When dad graduated from college he went back to South Pasadena and hooked up with a boyhood friend, Dean Banks. Dean's family had done very well and he was a real playboy. My dad was a pilot and flew Dean's airplane for him as well as took care of his yacht. Mother was the Bank's private nurse and that's how my mom and dad got hooked up. Mother used to tell stories about the wild parties at the Banks house.
