Levi Ormsby (spelled Ormsbury and Armsbury in earlier records).
The earliest record is the service in the War of 1812. He served
in the War of 1812 in Capt. Elihu Moses Co. of militia from the
State of Ohio commanded by Lieut. Hezekia Hine. This company was
mostly composed of men from the Town of Southington and nearby
Townships in Trumbull County, Ohio.
Photocopy of his papers from the National Archives show that he
was a Sergent. Commencement of service Sept. 3, 1814. Expiration
of service Mar. 3, 1815
